Owen Sands has been making music since he was 8 years old. He played the trombone in the school band and took piano lessons while growing up. In his teen years Owen played in a few garage jam bands, with his main instrument being the guitar. His strong love for "Hip Hop" began around 82', 83', and it egnited his desire to make beats. At the age of 17, electronic music got his interest through a local Woodstock radio show hosted by Scott Richmond. Nothing captivated him like this before. The beats had him up day and night sparking all kinds of possibilities. He started doing live PA around the local area. People were taken back because no one had done this before. Small town folk have a hard time with new things. Finally, he got a good job and started to purchase more and more gear. He became an obsessive beat feak and the tracks began to spew from his head. Now he lives in Raleigh, North Carolina where his DJ sets take the crowd by storm. He likes to mix his own tracks, funky tribal house, funk/disco and funky tech house. Owen's production skills started hitting the wax 3 years after he started and now there's no looking back. Owen Sand's production work has received support from world class jocks as John Digweed, Tony Thomas, Jay Tripwire and countless others. He has been charted on the notorious Balance Record pool several times. Owen's music has also been licensed for various Television and CD complilation projects such as Showtime's hit series "Queer as Folk". A project started long ago, with the aim to cultivate some of the best dance music to hit the human ear. Early on, had the privilege to be introduced into the studio and a band by John Annese. This furthered the calling, and caused a spending spree on gear. Since then, played keys with an amazing group of musicians and friends in a band called 'Voodelic'. While doing that, released 2 house grooves (Vibrate - with a remix from Paranoid Jack, and Vibrate 2005 - with a remix from Peace Division) with Release Records, and stirred some things up. Props came from Chris Fortier, Deep Dish, Barry Gilbey, Trendriod, Fluke DJs, Luke Fair, MV (Envy), Steve Lawler, Max Graham, Hector Romero, Steve Gerrard, Kingkade, and Mark Oliver. Meat Katie described the original 'Vibrate' track as Nu School House in a review for DJ Mag. Captured the likes of Sander Kleinenburg as well as Antoine, as they both included 'Vibrate' on Essential Mixes for BBC Radio1. Two other DJs that have supported by including this groove on a mix CD have been Oscar G. (from Murk) 'Made in Miami', and John Acquaviva's 'Danzoo Series'. Vibrate 2005 - Peace Division Mix was also recently placed on a double CD release 'Two Tribes Future Music Festival' in Australia. Point is, a lot of noise was made with these 2 tracks, and the plan is to continue to make a whole lot more. Official Artist Siteswww.myspace.com/bigblackboot |

DJ / producer Justin Kase has been immersed in dance music culture for almost 20 years. At the age of 15 he started attending East Coast raves. This was an eye opening time of his life. He was captivated by the music, dance and culture as a whole. During this time he was a failthful listener of a local house/techno/breaks radio show hosted by Scott Richmond on WDST radio in Woodstock, New York. At the time he was a bass player in a couple hardcore bands but knew in his heart that he had to change his musical direction to satisfy his love for dance music. Justin quickly started buying up various synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers in an attempt to recreate the sounds he was hearing at the raves and on Scott's radio show. In 1999 Justin Kase started performing Live PA sets. Along with his brother, Owen Sands, Justin sold out venues up and down the eastern seaboard. After years of doing live PA, DJing was the next step in his electronic music career. He has played along side such notable DJs as Joeski, TJR, Adam X and various other heavy weights in the industry. 2010 is proving to be a stellar year for Justin Kase. With many releases in the works and loads of tracks already released, Justin Kase is a talent to keep a watchful eye on. Whether he's tearing it up with one of his infamous DJ sets or turning out bumping beats from the 65 live studio, Justin is a force to be reckoned with.
